In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic networks to ensure seamless data transmission and connectivity. Your expertise will help deliver reliable internet, telephony, and network services to residential and commercial clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors using heavy equipment and specialized tools while contributing to critical IT infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Perform fiber optic splicing using precision fusion splicing equipment, ensuring minimal signal loss and high-quality connections Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, cranes, and power tools safely to access installation sites at various heights and terrains Install, troubleshoot, and repair telecommunication cabling including fiber optics, Ethernet LANs, WAN connections, and low voltage wiring Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and network diagrams to accurately install and maintain network infrastructure Conduct site surveys and prepare work plans for cable routing, trenching, and construction of telecommunication pathways Climb poles or structures safely using appropriate climbing gear to access overhead lines or equipment Maintain detailed records of work performed, including splicing details, test results, and system configurations Experience Proven experience in field service roles within telecommunications or construction environments involving fiber splicing and cabling installation Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as bucket trucks or cranes in outdoor settings Strong knowledge of telecommunication systems including fiber optics, Ethernet (LAN), WAN networks, telephony systems, and electrical wiring Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and network infrastructure diagrams Ability to use hand tools such as crimpers, cutters, fusion splicers, power drills, and other construction tools effectively Electrical experience or background in low voltage wiring is highly desirable Prior work involving climbing poles or towers safely while adhering to safety protocols Join us as a Fiber Splicing Technician if you're eager to build cutting-edge network infrastructure while working outdoors with advanced tools and equipment.
