Job Description
The Systems Integrator (Installation/Service Technician position) is in the business of installing and servicing electronic security systems including, but not limited to, video surveillance systems, intrusion alarm systems, access control systems, gated entry systems, intercom systems, vehicle tracking systems, mobile video surveillance systems, A/V systems, Specialty Sensors and Devices, PA/Mass Notification Systems, solar system, etc. Most installs/service calls take place in the commercial environments that range from, but not limited to, SMB (small business) markets, Mulit-Family/HOA markets, agriculture/marina/industrial markets all the way to enterprise markets with a very small residential market of approximately 5%-10% of our book of business. Our organization is very proficient in retrofitting systems/integrations and most installations/service takes place while the business/community is operational thus a heavy emphasis on cleanliness and customer service is essential (some pre-construction jobs do occur). Most installations will require a large diversity of working environments and skills including, but not limited to, conduit running, concrete work (cutting, patching, slabs, pedestal/pole setting, etc), attic work, aerial runs, trenching (machine and hand digging), extension ladder/lift work, relay/timer/trigger programming, cloud portal management and programming, computer networking, etc. A keen construction understanding of building infrastructure is essential to understand where/how we can run wires, conduits, underground work, etc. Experience with and a strong understanding of heavy equipment, hand tools, ladders, etc. is required. Certain industry certification and product certifications are required or will be required to be obtained.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday with occasional Saturdays. Hours vary based on client/company needs but generally have an 8AM start time and 5-6PM stop time; however, some later start times, delayed ending time and/or night work sometimes exist.
Travel Requirements:
Our technicians travel throughout
FL, GA & SC
on a weekly basis. All drive/travel time is performed in company issued vehicles, compensated at full pay rate, covered with company expense accounts and per diem issued.
Experience Requirements:
This role requires knowledge of analog and IP surveillance equipment, intrusion alarm systems, access control systems, gated entry systems, etc. including but not limited to; DVR's, NVR's, analog cameras, IP cameras, control panels, relays/timers/triggers, gate operators, intercoms, cloud connected devices, electronic locks/readers, enclosures, network racks, networking protocols, schemes, theories & devices, wireless communications and devices, low voltage wiring for VDV systems and applications as required by county and state codes, industry Best Practices running low voltage wiring, common safety procedures and knowledge of the use of hand and power tools associated with installation of such said systems. •Related industry experience can be considered such as: Cable/Internet/Satellite Technicians, Electricians, Fiber Optic Technicians, Telecom Technicians, Phone/Data/Network Cabling Technicians, etc.
Other Requirements:
The individual will be required to furnish their own hand tools such as, but not limited to; screw drivers, scissors, wrenches, sheetrock saw, wire strippers, RJ45 crimpers, glow rods, sockets/ratchets, all forms of pliers/cutters, voltage meter, and any other hand tool needed to accomplish an install or service call. The individual will be required to lift heavy objects such as wire, ladders and other items, must have no felony or criminal record, pass drug screening and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Training:
This role has an on-boarding and training period of approximately 4-6(+/-) weeks as a ride along with a Trainer/Senior Technician. Based on experience some are 2 weeks and others are 6 weeks. While training you are still required to meet all stated qualifications.
Compensation:
This role has a window of compensation that will range based on experience and skill-set. Rates are negotiable and based on those factors but generally range from $22.00/hr - $42.00/hr. These rates do not include per diem while traveling, commissions, etc. Rates/Offers will be discussed and agreed to at time of hire.
