Job Description

Telecom DC Power Technician Tampa, FL and surrounding market (Multiple Sites) Day Shift — 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Schedule may flex with project needs — should be prepared for varying shifts at times. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Telecom DC Power Technician to support the installation and maintenance of DC power infrastructure across a network of fiber facilities throughout Florida. This role will support both OSP and ISP environments, including data centers, communications shelters, equipment huts, fiber distribution facilities, and cabinet installations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, terminating, dressing, and troubleshooting telecom DC power systems and understand industry best practices for critical communications infrastructure. This is a field-based position supporting multiple sites across the FL region. Responsibilities Install, terminate, and commission telecom DC power systems Install and connect DC power plants, rectifiers, battery systems, and associated infrastructure Perform DC power installations within: data centers, communications shelters, equipment huts, fiber distribution facilities, and outdoor cabinets Route, dress, secure, and terminate power cabling Perform traditional cable lacing where required by customer specifications Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation packages Install grounding and bonding systems Perform equipment rack and cabinet installations Support ISP and OSP fiber network infrastructure deployments Troubleshoot and verify DC power installations Maintain quality workmanship and accurate documentation Follow all customer safety and site access requirements Required Qualifications Experience installing telecom DC power systems Experience working in telecommunications, carrier, broadband, or fiber network environments Ability to read wiring diagrams and installation drawings Knowledge of grounding and bonding practices Experience dressing and terminating power cabling Understanding of battery systems and telecom power distribution Ability to travel between project sites throughout Florida Preferred Qualifications Experience with fiber network facilities, carrier hotels, central offices, data centers, communications shelters, and equipment huts Experience with traditional cable lacing techniques DC Power certifications Experience working with critical communications infrastructure ISP and OSP telecommunications experience Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move equipment and materials Ability to work in active construction and telecommunications environments Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in equipment rooms and shelters Ability to travel to multiple sites throughout Florida Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has a telecom infrastructure background and understands DC power systems supporting fiber and communications networks. They are comfortable working in data centers, equipment huts, shelters, and cabinet environments and can perform quality installations with minimal supervision
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
