Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fiber Installer Technician and be at the forefront of expanding high-speed internet connectivity! In this role, you'll be responsible for installing, splicing, and maintaining fiber optic networks to ensure seamless communication services for residential and commercial clients. Your expertise will help bridge the digital divide, delivering reliable internet solutions that empower communities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the field, utilizing your technical skills to make a tangible impact every day. Responsibilities Install fiber optic cables and related network infrastructure in various environments, including underground, aerial, and inside buildings. Perform fiber splicing with precision using specialized tools to ensure optimal signal transmission. Set up and configure network equipment such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, and telecommunication devices. Conduct cable routing, termination, and testing to guarantee high-quality connections. Use hand tools and electrical testing devices like ohmmeters to troubleshoot and verify system integrity. Follow safety protocols for low voltage wiring and electrical work during installation processes. Document all installation activities accurately and report on system performance or issues encountered. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or field installer within telecommunication or networking industries. Hands-on knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and network installation procedures. Familiarity with computer networking concepts, Ethernet standards, telephony systems, and cabling practices. Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters. Strong understanding of telecommunication infrastructure including low voltage wiring and electrical systems. Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings related to fiber optic networks. Prior experience working with Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, or similar networking hardware is highly desirable. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
