Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Field Technician to support structured cabling projects, network infrastructure installations, and hardware deployments across multiple client locations. This role is fully travel-based and requires continuous travel via air and ground transportation to customer sites. Please note, this is not a remote position; it is posted as such for nationwide visibility.
Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, label, and test structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and low-voltage cabling Perform cable routing, cable tray installation, rack and cabinet organization, and cable management according to industry standards Install, configure, and deploy PCs, printers, scanners, network switches, wireless access points, and other endpoint devices Conduct workstation setups, hardware replacements, equipment upgrades, and technology refresh projects Perform OS installations, upgrades, imaging, and basic network device configuration Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, hardware, and software issues in a timely manner Test and certify cable runs using appropriate testing equipment and document installation results Assist with network infrastructure deployments, including patch panels, MDF/IDF buildouts, and equipment rack installations Provide Tier 1 technical support and basic troubleshooting for end users and client personnel Communicate technical issues clearly and professionally to customers, project managers, and team members Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, especially within regulated facilities Coordinate with project managers regarding project schedules, site readiness, workload, and status updates
Qualifications:
Must live within a reasonable distance of a major airport Ability and willingness to travel up to 100% of the time (flights and driving required) Experience with structured cabling installations, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting Familiarity with network infrastructure components including switches, patch panels, wireless access points, and racks Hands-on experience with PC hardware deployment, workstation setup, and peripheral installation Ability to read floor plans, cabling diagrams, and installation documentation Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills Experience working in healthcare, commercial, industrial, or other regulated environments is a plus Strong work ethic, adaptability, and willingness to work in dynamic field environments
