• Full-time, Contract Allstares Consulting services is seeking a highly skilled Level 2 Telecom Technician to join our dynamic team working out of the Portland, ME area, In this role, you will be responsible for installing telecommunication equipment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in telephony, along with excellent problem-solving abilities. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including network installation and system upgrades, ensuring reliable communication services for our clients. 00 per hour Duties Install and configure telecommunication eqiipment in Central offices Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations Conduct network testing using tools such as ohmmeters and Ethernet testers to verify system integrity. Install and configure Ethernet cabling (Cat5, Cat6) for LANs (Local Area Networks) in commercial or industrial settings. Assist with low voltage wiring projects adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Support customer service efforts by communicating technical information clearly and professionally. Document work performed, update system schematics, and maintain detailed service reports. Skills Extensive knowledge of the telecommunications industry Proficiency in network installation including Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), schematics interpretation, and equipment setup. Hands-on experience with VoIP technology. Ability to use hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, drills, and power tools effectively. Electrical experience related to low voltage wiring and adherence to NEC standards. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly. Prior service technician experience in telecommunication or IT fields i highly desirable. Knowledge of electrical safety practices and the use of testing devices like ohmmeters.
