Low Voltage Communications Technician

Job Summary:

Systematic Technologies is seeking experienced low voltage technicians skilled in the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of various types of systems including structured cabling and security systems. This is a construction position, not an IT position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• CAT6 copper solution installation.
• Fiber optic cable solution installation.
• Installation of Security systems.
• Pulling cables, fire stopping, dressing cables, and labeling to industry standards.
• Terminating CAT6 jacks, coaxial and fiber optic connectors.
• Accurately testing copper and fiber optic cables to industry standard utilizing appropriate test equipment.
• Troubleshooting and repairing copper and fiber optic cables.
• Read and understand blueprints to determine closet and equipment layout.
• Manage up to 3 person crews

Requirements:

• Minimum 2
• years
• of experience installing copper and fiber optic cabling systems including staging materials and planning the execution of work, pathways, TR build-out, pulling cable, terminations (fiber and copper), testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing others.
• Read and understand blueprints to determine closet and equipment layout.
• Experience in structured cabling and security systems.
• BICSI Installer/Technician certification highly desired.
• Minnesota Power Limited License (PLT)
• Ability to work extended hours (overtime) as needed.
• Reliable daily travel to work-sites.
• Must be able to work safely following company policy/procedures.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, as necessary.
• Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and work in aerial lifts.
• Comfortable with, and capable of, working in open construction environments.
• NICET certification is a plus Essential Duties and Responsibilities Solid team player and able to take direction effectively by team leaders.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. A self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to Demonstrate technical aptitude, and able to multi-task. Excellent Hand and Power Tool Skills, knowledge of basic test equipment (multi-meter, toner, etc.). Valid Driver's License and the ability to travel as needed. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
