The FT is a skilled operator within the E&O Team who is responsible for ensuring quality installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting the network elements to maintain optimal performance and maximum reliability. The FT covers all facets of field operations of the optical, Ethernet, and IP networks to ensure adherence to safety, project plans, and ensures the network is reliable and ready for rapid growth. This position requires a broad understanding of Bridged Broadband's capabilities, customers, relationships and networking technologies and protocols (Ethernet, IP, MPLS, DWDM, etc.). This position requires strong customer focus, attention to detail, strong technical skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service for our customers.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILIES
Installation & Maintenance Install, configure, and test fiber optic cables, connectors, and related hardware. Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network infrastructure. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company specifications during installations. Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose and resolve issues related to fiber optic connectivity, Ethernet transport, and DWDM systems. Utilize OTDR, power meters, and other diagnostic tools to identify and correct faults. Network Support Assist in provisioning and testing dedicated internet access circuits. Occasional overnight travel in support of network installation and/or maintenance. Collaborate with NOC (Network Operations Center) and engineering teams to ensure optimal network performance. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls. Provide detailed reports on network health and customer service activities. Customer Interaction Communicate effectively with clients during on-site visits. Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering timely and professional service.
REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the service area Highly motivated, with attention to detail Ability to interact attentively with customers and be responsive to customer needs and concerns. Proficient understanding of CLI commands Proficiency in fiber optic testing and troubleshooting Familiarity with Ethernet transport technologies and DWDM systems Understanding of IP networking fundamentals Ability to work independently and multi-task Customer focus with the desire to exceed the customer expectations Strong oral and written communications. Strong organizational and presentation skills. Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
MEF CECP 3.0
certification is a plus. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Carrier and Enterprise telecommunications experience is a plus. Internet Service Provider experience (ISP) is a plus. Ability to multi-task and maintain professional composure in a demanding environment.
