Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiber Installation Technician to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor. Opportunity:

This is a 1099 position. The pay structure is piecework pay (Pay per job completed). Experience is preferred, but we will train the right person. We are offering a hiring bonus of up to $2,500. (certain requirements must be met) Our client requires all new technicians have a White Van or Truck to be used as a representative of their company on customer jobsites. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and related infrastructure in various environments Perform fiber splicing using specialized tools to ensure optimal signal transmission and minimal loss Set up and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, and telephony systems Conduct cabling and mechanical work to establish secure and organized low voltage wiring pathways Use hand tools and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters to verify cable integrity and electrical continuity Diagnose and resolve issues related to fiber optics, network connectivity, and telecommunication systems in the field Document installation processes, test results, and maintenance activities accurately for reporting purposes Preferred Experience & Skills Proven experience in fiber splicing, network installation, or telecommunications field service roles Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, telephony, and low voltage wiring Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, cabling techniques, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters Prior service technician experience working with telecommunication infrastructure or electrical systems Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel extensively for on-site installations Preferred qualifications include telecommunications expertise, electrical experience, knowledge of Ethernet protocols, mechanical knowledge of cabling systems, familiarity with standards (if applicable), and experience working with low voltage systems.
