Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Groundhand, where you will play a vital role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication and network infrastructure. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with heavy equipment, fiber splicing, and electrical systems while contributing to the development of essential IT and communication networks. Duties Assist with the setup and operation of heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and hand tools to support field service activities. Support fiber splicing and cabling tasks following schematics and technical instructions to ensure proper connectivity. Aid in the installation and maintenance of telecommunication infrastructure including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), and telephony systems. Climb poles or structures safely using climbing gear to access low voltage and electrical components for repairs or upgrades. Help with the routing of cables through conduits, trenches, or aerial pathways while adhering to safety standards. Support network infrastructure projects by assisting with schematics interpretation and basic electrical work. Conduct routine safety inspections, maintain tools and equipment, and document work performed accurately. Requirements Prior experience or training in field service, construction, or telecommunications is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and efficiently. Basic understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN, Ethernet, WAN, and low voltage systems. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and electrical wiring techniques. Physical ability to climb structures, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail when following schematics and technical instructions for cabling or fiber splicing projects. Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety protocols and problem-solving.
