We are currently seeking a dependable Electrical Field Engineer or Technician to join our growing U.S.-based team at this new location. Initial training will be provided locally, with the opportunity for more advanced training at our headquarters in The Netherlands. This is an on-site, full-time role based in Charlotte, with frequent travel to support installations, commissioning, and maintenance of our food packaging solutions.
Core Responsibilities:
Adapt standard machines to make them client-specific, including the assembly and integration of multiple machines and systems. Wire and cable machines, molds, and tooling. Configure PLC and HMI software, servo drives, and frequency inverters. Coordinate and support local (c)UL inspections of assembled production lines. Assist with the hands-on installation and commissioning of machinery on-site and abroad. Perform servicing and maintenance of installed equipment at customer sites. Support the build-up of equipment for trade shows and exhibitions.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical, Mechatronic, or related engineering from an accredited US institution; or equivalent technical training with hands-on electrical experience. Familiarity with (c)UL and NFPA 79 standards. Basic knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens preferred), including loading software and fault/troubleshooting analysis. Experience in wiring and cabling. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Professional proficiency in English. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain passport. Availability to travel internationally for machine installations.
Preferred Additional Skills & Experience:
Ability to develop PLC applications using ladder logic. Configuration of servo and frequency inverters. Experience with industrial electronics (Beckhoff, Lenze, Siemens). Experience in mechanical assembly or machine building environments. Familiarity with food packaging or manufacturing industries.
