Job Description
Are you ready to build and maintain the networks that keep our communities connected? At Blue Ridge Energy, we're looking for a skilled Telecommunications Network Technician to join our Communications Technology team. In this role, you'll be hands-on with cutting-edge fiber-optic and RF networks-installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the systems that power critical communications for our members and customers. What You'll Do You'll play a key role in keeping our network strong, reliable, and growing.
Your day-to-day may include:
Installing, splicing, terminating, and testing fiber-optic and RF networks (OSP, ISP, commercial, and residential) Diagnosing and resolving network issues to ensure optimal performance Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics for efficient project execution Documenting all work to support compliance and future planning Managing materials and recommending system upgrades Coordinating with contractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies Delivering excellent customer service, including technical support and training Following all safety standards and industry best practices What You Bring We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a strong commitment to safety and service: Associate degree in electronics, telecommunications, or related field (preferred) (Relevant experience or training may substitute) 3+ years of experience in fiber optic installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance Strong knowledge of fiber splicing, testing, and network systems Familiarity with GIS, CAD, or mapping tools (a plus) Ability to work in a variety of environments-indoors, outdoors, and at heights Valid driver's license with safe driving record (Class B CDL or willingness to obtain is a plus) Willingness to obtain a North Carolina Notary Public commission What toExpect Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Occasional evenings/weekends as needed)Work Environment:
