About Us Mobile Surveillance Solutions is a leader in rapid-deployment surveillance systems, providing rugged, field-ready camera trailers and mobile security platforms across construction, infrastructure, energy, and event industries. Our systems help protect assets and deter crime in some of the most demanding outdoor environments. We are growing and looking for a motivated Field Maintenance Technician who thrives in hands-on, field-based roles and can help keep our surveillance units fully operational and mission-ready. Job Summary The Field Maintenance Technician is responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining Mobile Surveillance Solutions deployed camera trailers and surveillance systems across multiple customer sites. This position requires mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to field-based technical support. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mobile surveillance trailers (solarpowered, battery-powered, generator-supported). Troubleshoot and repair surveillance hardware including cameras, PTZs, lighting systems, solar panels, batteries, and networking gear. Conduct system diagnostics using multimeters, software tools, and remote monitoring platforms. Ensure camera systems are clean, functional, and transmitting data to monitoring centers. Respond to service calls and emergency repairs across assigned territory. Replace or repair mechanical and electrical components such as actuators, connectors, and fuses. Maintain accurate service logs, parts usage, and condition reports using internal work order systems. Communicate clearly with dispatch, tech support, and customers on site progress and status. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, company vehicle, and spare inventory. Adhere to all safety guidelines while working on trailers, poles, or at heights. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school is a plus. Minimum 2 years of field service experience, ideally with low-voltage systems, solar equipment, or mobile electronics. Strong working knowledge of 12/24/48V DC systems, solar charging, and battery management. Comfortable using basic hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Able to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and user manuals. Self-starter with excellent time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to tow and back trailers is a plus. Must be able to lift 80+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in outdoor conditions year-round. Preferred Skills (Not Required) Familiarity with wireless networks (LTE, cellular routers, IP cameras). Experience with security system configuration or remote monitoring platforms. Basic knowledge of generators or power distribution. Working Conditions Field-based work with regular travel to construction sites, industrial yards, and remote job locations. Most work is based in the Raleigh and Charlotte market but there are and will be delivery/pickup/maintenance of stations across the USA. Exposure to outdoor environments in varying weather conditions. May involve occasional on-call rotations or after-hours service needs. Why Join Mobile Surveillance Solutions?
