Job Description

Outpost Mission Services is a leading provider of specialized field services and mission-critical infrastructure support for aerospace, defense, and advanced communications sectors, specifically with ground satellite stations. Recently acquired by Washington Harbor Partners, we are entering a new era of accelerated growth, operational modernization, and strategic expansion. Backed by strong investment and a clear vision, we are building a world-class operations platform to deliver unmatched reliability, safety, and performance for our customers worldwide. In addition to our government contracting work, Outpost Mission Services also supports select commercial clients, expanding our capabilities across both public and private sector projects. Role Summary The Field Technician is responsible for supporting the on‑site construction, installation, and maintenance activities that enable Outpost Mission Services' operational success. This role works closely with the Field Service Supervisor to complete daily build schedules, uphold strict safety standards, and ensure projects are executed effectively and on time. This is a hands‑on, travel‑intensive role that requires adaptability, technical aptitude, and the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Take direction from Field Service Supervisor and follow all safety protocols. Support daily build schedule to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Strong team player with ability to work in all weather conditions. Ability to travel both domestic, and internationally for both short and long duration assignments. Comfort using hand tools and power tools.
Skills:
Mechanically inclined with the ability to build, assemble, and troubleshoot physical systems. Comfortable working from heights, on uneven terrain, and in tight or exposed areas. Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical labor in all weather conditions. Ability to work closely with a small team for long hours in remote environments. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills in active field conditions. Effective communication and a team-first approach to challenging work. High attention to detail and commitment to reporting hazards or issues promptly. Willingness to take on new tasks and learn specialized skills.
Qualifications:
Experience in construction, roofing, solar installation, painting, antenna installation, rigging, or other skilled trades. Experience working at heights and using fall‑protection systems. Proficient in operating manlifts, telehandlers, and similar equipment. Experience in rope access. Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance. Valid passport or ability to obtain; willingness to travel globally.
