Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Low Voltage Technician and become a vital part of delivering cutting-edge telecommunication, networking, and security solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial environments. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of critical infrastructure, including CCTV, fiber optics, network cabling, and telephony systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with innovative technology while providing exceptional service to clients and supporting their connectivity needs. Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems such as CCTV surveillance, fiber optic splicing, Ethernet networks, Cisco routers, VoIP telephony, and data cabling including Cat5 and Cat6. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install and maintain telecommunication equipment. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, perform repairs on network hardware, switches, routers, and other telecommunications equipment. Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal integrity for high-speed data transmission. Assist in network installation projects by running cabling through ceilings, walls, and conduits following NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Use hand tools and power tools safely to install equipment racks, patch panels, switches, and other low voltage components. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, service reports, and inspection logs for compliance and future reference. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system functions and troubleshooting steps. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems within telecommunications or IT environments. Hands-on experience with CCTV systems, fiber optic splicing, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), LAN setups, and network hardware such as Cisco routers and Juniper equipment. Knowledge of telecommunication standards including NEC regulations for electrical installations. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including VoIP systems like Avaya or similar platforms. Ability to use testing instruments such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical circuits and verifying system integrity. Experience working in data centers or large-scale network environments is highly desirable. Strong skills in using hand tools like crimpers, wire strippers, drills along with power tools necessary for installation tasks. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to follow schematics accurately and work independently in the field.
