In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunication systems across various client sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of voice, data, and fiber optic networks, supporting our clients' communication infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background in fiber splicing, network installation, and electrical systems, with a focus on delivering exceptional field service. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your mechanical knowledge and technical proficiency in telecommunication systems. Duties Install and configure Nortel telecommunication equipment including Nortel CS2100 and CS 1000 Perform fiber optic splicing and testing to ensure optimal signal integrity and network performance. Conduct cabling installations using hand tools, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry best practices. Troubleshoot and repair issues related to low voltage systems, Ethernet connectivity, and telephony services in the field. Use testing devices such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical faults and verify system functionality. Collaborate with project teams to plan installation layouts and execute field service tasks efficiently. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including wiring diagrams, test results, and system configurations. Provide technical support for network upgrades, system expansions, and maintenance activities. Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Assist in training or mentoring junior technicians on technical procedures and safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or telecommunications technician within the telecommunication or networking industry. Experince with Nortel CS2100 and CS 1000. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, TCP/IP protocols, and network topology. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic testing equipment. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools effectively for cabling and equipment installation. Electrical experience related to low voltage wiring, circuit testing, and troubleshooting electrical faults. Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts accurately. Valid field service certification or relevant technical training is preferred. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various outdoor or indoor settings.
