Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fiber Splicer, where you will play a vital role in building and maintaining high-quality fiber optic networks. This energetic position involves installing, splicing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables to ensure seamless telecommunication services. You will work in diverse environments, utilizing heavy equipment and hand tools to deliver reliable connectivity solutions. Your expertise will directly impact the performance of our clients' IT infrastructure, supporting everything from internet access to complex network systems. Responsibilities Install and splice fiber optic cables using precise techniques to ensure optimal signal transmission Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and power tools safely and efficiently during installation projects Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and network infrastructure plans to guide your work Conduct cabling and wiring for telecommunication systems, including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and telephony setups Climb poles, ladders, and structures safely while adhering to safety protocols for construction and telecommunications work Troubleshoot fiber optic issues by performing splicing repairs, testing signal integrity, and resolving connectivity problems Assist with the installation of low voltage electrical systems related to IT infrastructure and network components Maintain detailed records of all splicing activities, cable layouts, and network configurations for future reference Experience (Not Required, but Preferred) Proven experience in fiber splicing within telecommunication or construction environments Hands-on knowledge of field service operations involving heavy equipment operation and cable installation Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and climbing equipment safely in various outdoor or indoor settings Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and electrical wiring plans accurately Previous experience working with low voltage electrical systems and electrical safety standards is preferred Strong understanding of network infrastructure components including switches, routers, schematics, and IT hardware Join us to become part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional telecommunication solutions!
