In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, splicing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables in outdoor environments, ensuring seamless connectivity for residential, commercial, and enterprise customers. Responsibilities Perform field service operations including fiber splicing, cable installation, and maintenance in outdoor environments. Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently. Install and repair telecommunication cables, including fiber optics, copper cabling, and low voltage wiring for LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), and telephony systems. Read schematics and technical diagrams to accurately execute cabling layouts and network infrastructure setups. Climb poles, ladders, or structures while adhering to safety protocols to access hard-to-reach locations for cable deployment or repairs. Use hand tools and power tools to splice fiber optic cables with precision, ensuring optimal signal integrity. Conduct troubleshooting on network infrastructure issues related to fiber splicing, electrical systems, or low voltage wiring. Document work performed using detailed reports and logs; communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status or technical challenges. Experience We are seeking Fiber Optic Splicers with varying levels of experience to join our team. Whether you are just starting out in the field or have years of hands-on experience Proven experience in field service roles within telecommunication or construction environments involving fiber splicing and cabling. Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as bucket trucks or similar lifting devices. Strong knowledge of telecommunication systems including fiber optics, LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet wiring, WAN configurations, and telephony infrastructure. Familiarity with schematics, technical diagrams, and IT infrastructure components is highly desirable. Ability to climb poles or structures safely while maintaining electrical safety standards; previous climbing experience preferred. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and network testing equipment for installation and troubleshooting tasks. Electrical experience or background in low voltage wiring enhances your ability to handle complex network infrastructure projects effectively.
