Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fiber/Coax Technician and become a vital part of building and maintaining cutting-edge telecommunication infrastructure! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber optic and coaxial cable systems that deliver high-speed internet, television, and telephony services. Your expertise will help ensure seamless connectivity for residential and commercial customers alike. Whether climbing utility poles or operating specialized tools, you'll be at the forefront of innovative infrastructure development. Responsibilities Install, splice, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and coaxial wiring in various environments, including outdoor utility poles and underground conduits Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently to access work sites Use schematics, technical diagrams, and network infrastructure plans to accurately complete cabling and wiring tasks Conduct fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal transmission and minimal loss Perform cable routing, termination, testing, and certification of LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), telephony systems, and low voltage electrical circuits Climb utility poles or structures using safety harnesses and climbing techniques to reach installation sites Maintain detailed records of work performed, including diagrams, schematics, and inspection reports for IT infrastructure projects Qualifications Proven experience in field service roles involving telecommunication or electrical systems Skilled in fiber splicing, cabling, network testing, and troubleshooting telephony or Ethernet connections Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely in construction or utility environments Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, LAN/WAN configurations, and low voltage electrical systems Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet standards and network infrastructure setup Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and construction practices related to telecommunications installation Physical ability to climb structures safely and perform manual labor over extended periods Electrical experience or background in IT infrastructure is highly desirable Embark on a career that energizes your technical skills while connecting communities!
