OVERVIEW
McKim & Creed is seeking an enthusiastic Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES) Field Technician in support of Civil Engineering Water/Wastewater design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce design/construction drawings and specifications. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting data collection activities associated with the completion of a typical Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES) related project. Individual will be responsible for gathering and recording data in an efficient and timely manner. Individual must ensure that all data is recorded accurately.
DURING YOUR WORK-DAY, YOU WILL
Performing field inspections and investigations by collecting high quality and accurate data. Manhole Inspections
  • record various structure attributes and identify defects. Smoke Testing
  • conduct smoke tests and record defects encountered. Night Flow Isolations
  • measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage. Dye Testing
  • conduct dye water tracing and dye water flooding. Flow Monitoring
  • install & maintain open channel flow metering equipment. CCTV Inspections
  • conduct robotic video inspections of wastewater sewer pipelines in accordance to NASSCO PACP, MACP, and LACP standards.
Frequent overnight travel is required. This position requires a lot of walking outside and climbing ladders year-round through various terrain and in extreme heat and cold. Ability to work in Confined Spaces, including sanitary sewer manholes.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
High School diploma or GED is required. Must be able to travel. Willing to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines. Have the ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification. Should possess basic computer skills. Good technical skills. Valid drivers license.
WHAT WILLL MAKE YOU STAND OUT
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and/or Trimble Products is preferred. Previous SSES experience preferred but not required
