This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge network projects, ensuring reliable connectivity for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. As a Fiber Technician, you will be instrumental in expanding our fiber optic network, utilizing your technical skills and hands-on expertise to deliver exceptional service and support the growth of high-speed internet infrastructure. This paid position is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in fiber splicing, cabling, and network installation within a fast-paced environment. Duties Install, splice, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables using precision fiber splicing techniques to ensure optimal signal quality. Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and power tools safely to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas during installation and maintenance tasks. Use hand tools, schematics, and computer networking knowledge to interpret network diagrams and execute accurate cabling layouts. Conduct telecommunication infrastructure work including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and low-voltage wiring for various clients. Climb poles or structures safely using climbing gear to install or repair aerial fiber lines while adhering to safety protocols. Perform construction activities related to telephony systems, electrical wiring, and network infrastructure upgrades. Document all work performed with detailed reports, update schematics as needed, and communicate progress effectively with team members and supervisors. Qualifications Proven experience in field service operations involving telecommunication or fiber optic systems. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and efficiently. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, cabling, electrical wiring, and low-voltage systems. Familiarity with schematics, computer networking concepts including LAN, Ethernet, WAN, and telephony systems. Strong knowledge of construction practices related to telecommunications infrastructure. Physical ability to climb poles or structures using climbing gear; comfortable working at heights. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment necessary for construction and installation tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; able to interpret technical diagrams accurately. Prior experience in telecommunication or IT infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
