This role is ideal for a dependable, self-motivated professional who takes pride in problem-solving, communicates clearly, and consistently delivers a high level of service. Field Service Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing specialized equipment while building strong relationships with customers. The ideal candidate is punctual, calm under pressure, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Additional duties may be assigned) Provide verbal, written, and on-site technical support to clients Install, inspect, maintain, and repair ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, examination lane equipment, eyeglass lens edgers, frame tracers, and related accessories Perform preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance, and complex troubleshooting Maintain strong client relationships and ensure consistent customer satisfaction Complete and submit paperwork accurately, neatly, and on time Manage assigned company assets including tools, inventory, and vehicles Maintain personal warehouse inventory and related documentation Follow established policies, procedures, and technical guidelines Perform shop-based and on-site repairs, including inspecting and second-signing work completed by others Travel as required within the service area Physically install equipment at client locations and provide operational and preventive maintenance training to users Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical repair and troubleshooting High school diploma or GED required Experience with electronics and computer repair preferred Familiarity with diagnostic tools and technical equipment Basic understanding of computer networking and device connectivity (IP addressing, local networks, troubleshooting connectivity issues) Active and valid U.S. driver's license Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar business software Willingness to participate in ongoing technical and professional training Strong verbal and written communication skills What We Offer Competitive salary Stable, full-time position Hands-on technical work with specialized equipment Opportunities for ongoing training and skill development Supportive, professional work environment
