Full Job Description Job Type:

Contract (1099 Independent Contractor) In-person - Austin, TX and surrounding areas We are looking for skilled Low Voltage Field Technicians to perform on-site installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance for commercial clients. This role is ideal for technicians with hands-on experience in structured cabling, telecom, and network hardware who are comfortable working independently in the field.

Pay:

$50/hour (2-hour minimum per service call) Technicians are guaranteed $100 per job, even if the work is completed in less than 2 hours. Mileage reimbursement may apply when applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide on-site technical support for business clients Troubleshoot and resolve network and connectivity issues (LAN/WAN) Configure and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls Perform hardware installations (PCs, printers, POS systems, peripherals) Diagnose and resolve software and operating system issues Run basic cabling and assist with equipment setup Communicate clearly with clients and provide professional service

Typical Service Calls Include:

Network and internet troubleshooting POS system setup and repair Router installation Printer and peripheral configuration Equipment replacements and installations

Requirements:

Proven experience in IT support, field service, or telecom work Strong knowledge of networking (routers, switches, firewalls) Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues independently Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Austin area Must have basic tools (laptop, cables, toolkit, etc.) Smartphone for job communication and updates Excellent communication and customer service skills

Important:

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Technicians are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, tools, and transportation.
