Job Description
360 Broadband is a rapidly growing wireless and fiber internet service provider delivering high-speed broadband solutions to cities and rural communities across Texas and Oklahoma. We are a team-oriented organization committed to quality service, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Telecommunications Installation & Repair Technician to support wireless installations, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments, and service repairs across our service footprint. Position Summary The Telecommunications Installation & Repair Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of wireless and fiber optic infrastructure for residential and business customers. This role includes installing wireless equipment, placing and connecting fiber optic lines, performing fiber splicing, operating light construction equipment, and ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to customer property. This position requires strong technical aptitude, professionalism, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. Key Responsibilities Install and repair wireless internet equipment at residential and commercial locations Install fiber optic microduct from network handholes to customer premises Perform fiber splicing and connect fiber to Network Interface Devices (NIDs) Operate light construction equipment including vibratory plows and mini skid steers Safely tow and transport equipment trailers to job sites Use fiber splicing and testing equipment (OTDR, power meters) to ensure signal integrity Troubleshoot service issues and perform necessary repairs Ensure proper burial depth and placement of fiber/microduct according to company standards Restore customer property to near-original condition following installation Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service calls, and field modifications Follow OSHA guidelines, company safety standards, and local utility regulations Identify and report hazards, service disruptions, or field issues Always provide professional communication and customer service Participate in on-call rotation and travel within the company service area as required Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle check Experience in telecommunications, fiber optic installation, or wireless systems preferred Fiber splicing experience preferred Ability to operate or willingness to learn construction equipment (vibratory plows, mini skid steers) Ability to safely tow and maneuver equipment trailers Working knowledge of safety standards and underground utility placement practices Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and on-call schedules as needed
