Utility Locate Technician

Talisman is a full-service engineering and surveying firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah with a staff count of 25 people. We are looking for a Utility Locate Technician to join our growing team. Our technicians spend their workdays on the go, working with a Survey Party Chief in the field using their company-provided vehicle. Your Responsibilities as a

Locator:

correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and storm drain and sewer systems; thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing the necessary documentation, and photographing each locate. Our utility technicians will also work directly with the Survey Party Chief to learn the ins and outs of land survey services. Our technicians will be provided GPS equipment to survey their locates. TCC's land survey group has projects all over the county, some travel will be required. Talisman Civil Consultants provides a generous benefit package and an exciting, flexible work environment. Qualifications No prior locating experience is necessary Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs Computer proficiency Available to work overtime and weekends (as needed) Able to pass a drug screen Valid driver's license and a safe driving record Responsibilities Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing the necessary documentation, and photographing each locate Work outdoors in the fresh air, using a company-provided laptop to document and close all tickets These are daytime, full-time positions and overtime may be required TCC have projects located out of state, some travel will be required.
