Job Title:
Marine Electrician Technician Job Description We are seeking five Marine Electrician Technicians at various levels from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Class Rates to join our team. The Marine Electrician will support Field Installation Services on US Navy ships, focusing on the installation, termination, and testing of fiber optic and copper cable assemblies for ship services including power, communication, telephone, and alarm systems. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and previous experience with multi-pin copper connectors are essential. Fiber optic installation and testing experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cable assemblies on US Navy ships. Support ship services including power, communication, telephone, and alarm systems. Read and interpret customer drawings and technical manuals with precision. Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of electrical wiring and cable. Troubleshoot and test fiber and copper cables and circuits. Utilize tools such as multi-meters, pin crimpers, and soldering equipment. Accomplish complex tasks associated with electrical installation, including military circular connectors and power terminations. Possess skills to perform shipboard or airframe electrician tasks with minimal supervision. Work collaboratively with the Field Service Operations Manager and/or Project Lead. Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, and travel for extended periods. Essential Skills Experience with multi-pin copper connectors. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Proficiency with tools used in the electrician's trade. Familiarity with basic computer skills and MS-Office programs. Eligibility for DBIDS. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in ship repair onboard US Navy ships. Additional Skills & Qualifications Former Navy experience as Electronics Technician (ET), Information Systems Technician (IC), Aviation Maintenance (AT), or Electrician's Mate (EM). Technical education may substitute for a portion of the experience requirement. Multi-pin connector and cableway or cable handling certification preferred. Why Work Here? NBSD, NASNI
(Coronado), CMSD, NASSCO, Austal, and BAE. The role may require overtime, including weekends, and travel for extended periods, emphasizing flexibility and adaptability in various locations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of National City, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
