Marine Mechanic

Job Title:

Mechanic-marine Job Summary Assists in the mechanical repair and retail parts to guests as well as providing maintenance and repair of marina rental fleet, vehicles and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities Assists in maintaining proper controls for safeguarding service department assets, including but not limited to rental fleet, inventory and equipment. Follows a security lock-down/lock-out program. • Helps maintain an above average appearance for all service department areas. Understands and complies with government regulations pertaining to service department functions. Maintains a professional relationship with all agencies, contractors, vendors, and guests. Ensures and takes appropriate action for the proper maintenance of all service department equipment. Follows or develops a routine preventative maintenance program. Ensures the safety of guests and employees. Understands and complies with the safe use of service department equipment. Understands and complies with the established Training Programs. Ensures prompt, safe and courteous service to all guests. Supervision Received from

Service Manager, General Manager Job Specifications, Standards and Requirements Education :

High School Diploma or equivalent plus 2 years college or continuing mechanical education preferred. Marine Mechanic Certificates preferred. Automotive certificate.

Experience :

Prefer marine related experience but will consider other repair/maintenance experience.

Skills/Knowledge :

General boat, vehicle and equipment repair/maintenance knowledge. Ability to assess and determine what needs to be done, with minimum supervision.

General Abilities :

English language skills, written and oral. Math computation skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively. Must be able to follow directions and work with others as a team. Work efficiently as an individual and be self-motivated.

Physical Standards :

Job demands a flexible and varying work routine. Requires the ability to lift and/or carry 50+ lbs., grasp, hold, bend, kneel, sit, stoop, twist, push, pull, walk, stand, repair and maintenance on floating vessels on a regular basis. Ability to use step stool, and/or climb ladder. Must be able to swim. Must be able to work outside, daily, in all weather conditions-including 100+ degree temperatures. Eye-Hand coordination. Other.

At times you may be required to assist other co-workers to complete tasks that may not be included within this document. Additional training may be involved that may or may not require travel. Assist in all aspects of marina operation/function at this location, and/or at our other locations within our organization.
