The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair various types of golf course machinery and equipment using battery motors, gasoline and diesel engines. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The hours for this position are 6am-2pm in summer months, 7am-3 pm in winter months. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair small gasoline and diesel engines. Understand how hydraulic systems function. Perform repairs and maintenance on all golf course machinery, vehicles, and equipment. Utilize tools such as an Ohmmeter to test electrical components. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory. Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment. Assist in the installation of new equipment as needed. Use/ develop knowledge and skills for reel mowing technology. Creating and ordering parts lists. Sharpen bladed on golf course mowers. Maintain a fleet of golf course equipment including, mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, battery and gasoline operated tools. Qualifications Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or in a similar role. Strong understanding of gasoline and diesel engine systems and components. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, including an Ohmmeter. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and supervisor. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
