Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engine repair and maintenance, with experience in various types of small engines, including those found in lawn equipment, generators, and automotive applications. This role requires a combination of mechanical knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to work with hand and power tools. Must be able to work outside and have your own tools. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair small engines, including lawn mowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues and mechanical failures. Conduct diesel engine repairs as needed, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed for customer reference. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly. Assist in sales by recommending additional services or products based on customer needs. Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively for repairs. Perform heavy lifting as required during the repair process. Qualifications Previous dealership or service technician experience is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and equipment repair. Familiarity with generator repair and electrical systems is a plus. Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot complex issues effectively. Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to engine repair. Experience with Caterpillar engines is an advantage but not mandatory. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Basic soldering skills for electrical repairs are desirable.
