Location is 31st Street Harbor (3155 S Lake Shore Drive, Chicago IL) & Pier 11 (826 E 138th St, Chicago, IL 60827). General Description Chicago Yachting rents boats to customers in Chicago from 31st Street Harbor. We are seeking a Marine Technician or Mechanic to join our team. You will participate in preparation of the fleet prior to Spring launch, for on-going maintenance projects throughout the summer rental season and for Fall season maintenance and winterization. Demonstrated experience with marine equipment is required. Main Accountabilities Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on marine engines, electrical systems, mechanical components and other boat systems. Cosmetic work on the boats including gel coat/fiberglass repair. Utilize power tools and hand tools to conduct repairs and installations. Conduct heavy lifting as required during repairs and maintenance tasks. Fall season maintenance and winterization. Winter season special projects. Minimum Qualifications & Behavioral Requirements
  • Applicants should have experience with or be prepared for a physical work environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues with marine diesel engines, marine electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently Schedule & Compensation
  • Full time.
  • Based on experience, starting salary between $60,000 and $70,000 with bonus potential.

  • This position is about 80% outdoor. Applicants should have experience with or be prepared for a physical work environment.
Sitting/Standing/Flexibility:
Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an outdoor environment.

    Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
      Lifting:
      Ability to conduct heavy lifting.
        Vision/Hearing:
        Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
          Safety:
          Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary

          $60,000.00
