Are you a skilled mechanic who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in keeping equipment operating at peak performance? Columbus Park and Marquette Park Golf Courses, professionally managed by Troon, the world's leading golf management company, are seeking a dependable and motivated Golf Course Equipment Technician / Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of golf course maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, and small engines. This position offers the opportunity to work at two historic Chicago golf facilities while becoming part of the Troon family, an industry leader known for professional development, career advancement, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair golf course maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, and small engines Perform preventative maintenance on mowers, tractors, carts, hydraulic systems, and other equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues Conduct routine service including fluid changes, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement Maintain accurate service and repair records Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently Assist with fabrication, welding, painting, and other shop-related projects as needed Recommend preventative maintenance practices to extend equipment life Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Work closely with golf course management to prioritize repairs and equipment needs Qualifications Previous experience as a mechanic, equipment technician, or similar role Strong understanding of gasoline and diesel engines Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Ability to read service manuals and technical documentation Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications Experience working on turf equipment, golf course machinery, agricultural equipment, landscaping equipment, or heavy equipment Welding and fabrication experience Vocational training, technical certification, or apprenticeship completion Valid driver's license Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions Must be available to work early mornings Must be available to work weekends as needed Benefits Competitive Pay:
