We are an authorized dealer and service provider for Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda and specialize in marine service, diagnostics, rigging, trailer repair, powersports service, storage, and seasonal maintenance. We operate a busy, fast-paced service department with a consistent year-round workload. Our technicians work on a wide variety of equipment and are expected to produce quality work efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced technician who can diagnose, repair, and complete jobs with minimal supervision. Position Overview Schneider's Motorsports & Marine is seeking an experienced Marine / Powersports Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who takes pride in their work, has strong diagnostic abilities, and is comfortable working independently in a production-based environment. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and rigging marine and powersports equipment while meeting productivity and quality standards. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair marine engines and related systems Perform maintenance and repair on outboards, inboards, sterndrives, and outdrives Diagnose and repair electrical, fuel, cooling, steering, and control systems Perform winterizations, spring commissions, and seasonal services Install accessories, electronics, batteries, trolling motors, and other marine equipment Perform trailer repairs including brakes, bearings, suspension, lighting, and wiring Utilize OEM diagnostic software and follow manufacturer repair procedures Accurately document repairs, labor, and findings on repair orders Communicate repair recommendations and findings with service advisors and management Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Assist with other dealership service-related duties as needed This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Minimum Qualifications Please do not apply unless you have prior mechanical repair experience. Minimum 3 years of verifiable technician experience in marine, powersports, automotive, diesel, RV, equipment, or related mechanical fields Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently Experience reading service manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures Own basic technician tools (specialty tools provided) Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical work in a shop environment Ability to work full-time and some Saturdays as needed Preferred Qualifications Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, or Honda certifications Marine technician experience Powersports or snowmobile repair experience Sterndrive and outdrive service experience Advanced electrical diagnostic experience Trailer repair and fabrication experience Rigging and accessory installation experience Forklift experience Benefits Health Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Employee Discount Program Company Apparel Consistent Year-Round Work Professional Shop Environment Career Growth Opportunities Who Will Succeed in This Role This position is ideal for a technician who: Takes pride in producing quality work Shows up every day ready to work Can diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts Works efficiently without sacrificing quality Wants long-term stability and year-round employment Enjoys working in a growing dealership environment If you are an experienced technician looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing marine dealership, we encourage you to apply.
