Small Engine Mechanic
- Entry Level Tri City Outdoor Power Equipment |
Rutherfordton, NC Pay:
$15- 22/hr | Full-Time
- About Us Tri City Outdoor Power Equipment (TCOPE) is an authorized Bobcat full-line dealership serving the Rutherford County area. We offer sales, parts, service, and rentals — and we take pride in keeping our customers' equipment running at its best. We're a locally owned, hands-on operation where your work matters and your growth is supported.
- The Role We're looking for a motivated, mechanically inclined individual to join our service team as an Entry-Level Small Engine Mechanic.
- What You'll Do
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on small engines and outdoor power equipment
- Assist senior technicians with more complex service work as you develop your skills
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and equipment prep on new and rental units
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Wash machines before and after conducted repairs
- Communicate clearly with the service team and, when needed, with customers
- Document work performed accurately on service orders
- What We're Looking For
- Basic mechanical aptitude — you don't have to know everything, but you have to love figuring things out
- Some hands-on experience with small engines, power equipment, or similar (personal, vocational, or professional)
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in doing the job right
- Valid driver's license
- Strong attention to detail Bonus points for:
- Vocational/technical school training in small engine repair, diesel, or related field
- Prior dealership or shop experience
- Familiarity with Bobcat, Toro, Warhawk, Spartan, Husqvarna, or other power equipment brands
