Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Service Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in marine engine diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, takes initiative on jobs, and consistently completes services in a timely manner. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair marine engines and related systems Perform routine maintenance and inspections on inboard and outboard engines Work on Indmar engines and Mercury outboard systems Service and maintain boat trailers as required Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer and safety standards Maintain accurate service records and documentation Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers when needed Take initiative on assigned jobs and see tasks through to completion efficiently Willingness to pursue additional certifications as needed (company covers costs)
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience as a marine service technician Indmar certification required Mercury Outboard certification required Must own a complete set of hand tools (specialty tools provided) Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Ability to work efficiently and complete services in a timely manner Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Mercury I/O certification is a plus PCM certification is a plus Experience with electrical systems, CAN bus diagnostics, and modern marine electronics Gel coat repair experience is a plus Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
