Job Overview The Mercury V12 Certified Marine Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, commissioning, and repowering vessels equipped with Mercury Marine outboard engines, with a primary focus on Mercury V12 systems. This position performs advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic troubleshooting while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with Mercury Marine standards, manufacturer specifications, and dealership quality requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge, maintains current Mercury certifications, and is capable of independently diagnosing and resolving complex vessel and engine issues. Duties & Responsibilities Maintain current Mercury Marine V12 certification and complete required manufacturer training. Perform routine maintenance including inspections, oil changes, tune-ups, fluid services, and system checks. Diagnose and repair Mercury V12 outboard engines and related vessel systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, steering, and electronic system issues. Complete engine repowers, rigging, commissioning, and sea trial preparation. Install, configure, and test marine accessories and equipment. Perform warranty repairs in accordance with Mercury Marine policies and procedures. Utilize manufacturer diagnostic software, service manuals, and technical documentation. Conduct vessel commissioning, decommissioning, winterization, and spring commissioning services. Verify repairs through testing and quality inspections prior to vessel release. Document labor, diagnostics, repairs, parts usage, and recommendations accurately. Submit daily timesheets and service documentation to the Service Department. Communicate repair progress, delays, and technical findings to the Service Advisor and management team. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Assist customers with technical questions when appropriate. Follow dealership processes, safety procedures, and quality standards.

As required by business needs. Requirements for the Position Current Mercury Marine V12 Certification Strong knowledge of marine outboard engines and vessel systems. Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Marine technician, diesel technician, automotive technician, or related mechanical experience. Valid driver's license. Preferred Mercury Master Technician certification. ABYC certifications. Experience with vessel rigging, commissioning, and repowers. Experience with marine electronics and digital control systems. Boating and marine industry experience. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces. Ability to lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work aboard vessels, on docks, and in marine service environments. Exposure to weather conditions, engine noise, fuels, lubricants, and marine chemicals. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Drug & Alcohol Valhalla Yacht Sales is a drug-free workplace.
