As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of small engines and equipment used in construction, landscaping, and related industries. This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of equipment and contribute to the success of our customers' projects.Responsibilities:
Inspect small engines and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems accurately and efficiently. Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on small engines, including but not limited to, lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators, compactors, and light construction equipment. Disassemble engines and components, replace defective parts, and reassemble equipment following manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups. Keep detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and parts inventory. Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues regarding repair options, estimated completion times, and equipment status. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workshop environment.Requirements:
Experience as a small engine mechanic or similar role. Strong knowledge of small engine mechanics, including two-stroke and four-stroke engines. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues. Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively. Familiarity with a variety of small engine brands and models preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in a similar industry, such as construction, landscaping, or equipment rental, is advantageous. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
