Job Description

Marine Service Technician — Seager Marine, Rushford, NY Seager Marine is hiring a seasonal (April - November) Service Technician at our Rushford Lake location. We service Mercury, Yamaha, Honda, Volvo Penta, and PCM, so you'll see a wide variety of platforms across outboards, sterndrives, and inboards. We're willing to train the right person; what we can't teach is mechanical aptitude and a strong work ethic.
Reports to:
Service Manager What you'll do: Diagnose, service, and repair outboard, sterndrive, and inboard engines (Mercury, Yamaha, Honda, Volvo Penta, PCM) Service onboard systems — electrical, fuel, steering, controls, plumbing Perform spring commissioning, winterization, and routine maintenance Rig new boats and install accessories Run water tests and sea trials on Canandaigua Lake Document all work accurately in our service management system Keep the shop and your bay clean, organized, and safe What we're looking for: Strong mechanical aptitude — automotive, small engine, powersports, diesel, or marine experience all translate Comfort with hand tools and willingness to learn manufacturer diagnostic software (Mercury CDS G3, Yamaha YDIS, Volvo VODIA, etc.) High school diploma or equivalent; marine technical training (ABYC, Mercury University, Yamaha Marine University) is a plus but not required Valid NYS driver's license and clean driving record (you'll occasionally tow) Able to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight engine compartments, and stand for extended periods Comfort on the water and basic boating skills helpful (we can get you there) A customer-first attitude — boats are how our customers spend their best days, and we treat that seriously Pay & benefits: Base hourly pay + commission. Paid manufacturer training and certifications (Mercury, Yamaha, Honda, Volvo Penta, PCM, ABYC)
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
