Boat Mechanic

Why Rick's Boat Service? We are a family owned business that started off in a garage with three generations of boat lovers. We have transitioned over time from a mobile Marina Service into the Marina that we are today. We are the only Marina in the Tri-State area that works on older boats and many of our customers are sent to us from other well-respected marinas. We work on everything from the older 2-stroke outboards to the newer 4-stroke outboard engines. We also work on sterndrives, inboard, outboard engines and drives. We also do minor welding and trailer, minor fiberglass repair, rewiring 12-volt systems in boats, and rebuilding of engines of all sizes. We have a total of 9 complete work bays to work on boats that are fully equipped with a boat lift and air compressors. Our shop is organized, well-lit, and heated/air conditioned. The fun and friendly atmosphere of the shop is what drives us to be our best. Between helping each other and training one another we strive to keep boat knowledge available for all generations to come. With this great working environment, all employees are respectful, open to any questions, and willing to help. We are looking for someone who is excited to learn and ready to become a part of this talented team. Base pay is based upon experience. We also offer additional commission/flat rate pay benifits.

Qualifications:

• Driver's License (Required)
• Work authorization (Required) Able to work weekends if needed (Required)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Willing to learn new techniques and be open to listening to others.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Work on shrink-wrapping all boats for the winter season.
• Winterize engines properly for storage.
• Properly open boats by checking all fluids, checking all systems, charging batteries, and performing a general checkup.
• Can work individually and with others.
• Using a wide array of tools to work on boats.
• Keeping the shop clean, and cleaning customer boats as needed.
• Other general shop duties as needed. Quality Applicant's Additional Advantage
• Shrink-wrap experience (Preferred) Ideal candidate will have some mechanical experience on auto or boat.

Full-time, Part-time Pay:

$15.00 - $45.00 per hour
