Golf Course Mechanic Position Summary Barefoot Resort & Golf is seeking a skilled and dependable Golf Equipment Mechanic to assist in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of golf course maintenance equipment across the property. This position works under the direction of the Equipment Manager and is responsible for helping ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe, efficient, and reliable operating condition. The Golf Course Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, assist with equipment repairs, and support the daily operational needs of the golf course maintenance departments. Entry-level mechanics with automotive, diesel, agricultural, small engine, or related mechanical experience are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided for qualified candidates who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Multi-Course Equipment Technician with the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of golf course maintenance equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, and other turf maintenance equipment. Change oil, filters, belts, blades, hydraulic components, and other wear items as needed. Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-related issues. Sharpen, grind, and adjust reels and bed knives to ensure proper cutting performance. Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment needs and safety concerns. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Assist with parts inventory management and organization of the maintenance facility. Ensure equipment is cleaned, serviced, and prepared for daily use. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Multi-Course Equipment Technician, Golf Course Superintendent, or Director of Agronomy. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in turf equipment, diesel, automotive, agricultural, or small engine repair preferred. Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working with tools and machinery. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Compensation Pay will be based on experience and qualifications.
