Job Description

Join our team at Bumpus Harley Davidson in Jackson TN as a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Service Technician and keep the legend rolling. We are looking for a skilled, passionate, and detail-oriented Motorcycle Service Technician to join our busy dealership service department. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and customize iconic Harley-Davidson motorcycles while ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer satisfaction. Whether it is routine maintenance or complex engine overhauls, your precision work will directly impact our riders' experiences on the open road.
Job Responsibilities Perform Diagnostics :
Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and fuel system issues using factory diagnostic tools.
Execute Repairs :
Complete engine, drivetrain, suspension, brake, and transmission overhauls to factory specifications.
Routine Maintenance :
Conduct scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, tire replacements, and multi-point safety inspections.
Customization Work :
Install official parts, accessories, and performance upgrades to customize bikes for guests.
Manage Workflow :
Maintain clean, detailed records of work orders and communicate job delays or extra repair needs to Service Advisors.
Quality Assurance :
Test-ride motorcycles to verify repair quality and ensure all safety standards are met before customer delivery.
Shop Upkeep :
Keep your designated workspace clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills Experience :
Minimum of 1-2 years of professional motorcycle or powersports technician experience (Harley-Davidson dealership experience preferred).
Education :
Completion of a motorcycle training program (such as MMI or UTI) or equivalent factory training is a major plus.
Certifications :
Current Harley-Davidson University (HDU) certifications are highly valued.
License :
Valid driver's license with a clean record and a motorcycle endorsement.
Tools :
Ownership of a complete set of standard professional technician hand tools.
Physical Fitness :
Ability to safely lift, push, and balance heavy motorcycles weighing up to 800 lbs onto service lifts.
Screening :
Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment background check and drug screening.
