Marine Technician Helper - Corpus Christi, TX Pay rate: 18/hr Job description Sterling Personnel, Inc. is recruiting a Marine Technician Helper for our client in the Corpus Christi, TX area. The Marine Technician Helper will be responsible for assisting technicians with inspections, service, repairs, and installations of safety systems and equipment related to the maritime industry.

Responsibilities:

Marine Helpers:

assist the licensed Marine Service Technicians in the inspections, service, repairs and/or installs of fire suppression & detection safety systems and equipment aboard ocean cargo vessels, tankers, tugs, OSVs, offshore rigs etc., and the transport & handling of safety equipment requiring service by performing the following duties: Assists with moving testing and service equipment for Technicians Reviews, receives, and completes paperwork such as certificates, inspection reports, and delivery receipts before leaving the job site Travels to various sites as needed to complete jobs Delivering equipment to customers or other job sites Maintains a clean working environment by sweeping, emptying trash, organizing paperwork, putting tools away, and keeping parts and inventory organized.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems expediently. Ability to comprehend a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Lifting and/or extending 50 lbs. OR more, sometimes repeatedly Lifting, bending, & twisting at the waist simultaneously; bending over, squatting, and/or kneeling, sometimes repeatedly Operating mechanical equipment Sitting, reaching with hands & arms, using hands & fingers for data entry keystrokes

Qualifications:

1-2 years minimum experience in a related field Valid Driver's License Must be able to pass drug screening / background check / MVR FEL-A license Valid TWIC Card High school diploma or GED Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more, sometimes repeatedly Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, customers, and other employees Ability to work in extreme weather and temperature conditions Please note this position requires the ability to work in extremely tight or confined spaces Computer /

Typing Skills:

Some proficiency in Windows applications (Word, Excel) preferred therapy2
