  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Repair:
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of motorboats and marine engines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Inspections:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of boats to identify potential issues, wear and tear, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems with precision and accuracy, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Engine Work:
  • Service and repair outboard, inboard, and stern drive engines, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Electrical Systems:
  • Install, inspect, and repair boat electrical systems, including wiring, batteries, and lighting.
  • Customer Interaction:
  • Communicate effectively with boat owners to discuss repairs, provide estimates, and offer advice on maintenance best practices.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and hours worked for each job.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Assist in managing inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for timely repairs.
  • Qualifications:
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience as a motorboat mechanic or service technician, with a strong background in marine engine maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive understanding of marine engine systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient with tools and equipment used in boat maintenance and repair. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to solve complex mechanical problems efficiently.
  • Communication:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to customers clearly and concisely.
  • Certification:
  • Relevant certifications in marine mechanics or related fields are highly desirable.
  • Physical Stamina:
  • Ability to work in various conditions, including outdoors and on the water, and to lift heavy equipment as needed.
