Then join our System Integration (SI) team whose accomplishments make a positive impact supporting the U.S. Navy and national defense! We are seeking shipboard Marine Mechanicsfor fleet modernization in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia area. The selected candidate will be supporting our Systems Integrations Organization working on active class submarines and surface ships installing, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical tools to install, upgrade and remove industrial equipment to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization on various contracts such as Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Naval Surface Warfare Center. What You Will Do Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel. Applies understanding of production and processes to assignments. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May assist in the development and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports. Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment. What You Must Have- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience.
- Experience in the mechanical installation, testing, and maintenance of equipment, with a strong background supporting installation and/or maintenance teams.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a CAC badge and a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Must be a U.S. citizen. Bonus Points For...
- Prior AIT or active duty experience on current active class surface ships and submarines is preferred.
- Experience supporting marine mechanical installations and/or maintenance teams.
- A current, active DoD security clearance.
- Experience supporting the installation and assembly of electronic equipment cabinets associated with
C5ISR/ C4ISR
is a plus.- Experience in the performance of preventative maintenance is a plus.
- Familiarity with NAVSEA approved Quality Assurance Programs is a plus.
- Current OSHA 10 Maritime Certificate is a plus.
- Technical/Professional Certifications are a plus.
- Possession of a current U.
