Position Overview The Marine Mechanic plays a critical role in our core operations, ensuring boats and watercraft are serviced with precision and care. This position requires a highly skilled and dedicated technician with experience in outboard, inboard/outboard, and V-drive boats. Experience with surf sport boats, including gate and ballast systems, is a plus. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of marine 12-volt electrical systems, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs with minimal oversight. As part of our service team, the Marine Mechanic upholds our mission by providing top-tier workmanship and customer-focused service, reinforcing our reputation for excellence. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on outboard, inboard/outboard, and V-drive boats . Maintain and repair marine electrical systems, including 12-volt systems and related components. Service and install surf sport boat systems , including ballast and gate mechanisms. Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and seasonal services (winterization/summerization). Troubleshoot engine, fuel, and propulsion systems with accuracy and efficiency. Work closely with the service team to provide clear assessments and recommend solutions. Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are performed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Communicate effectively with customers and service writers regarding repairs, timelines, and recommendations. Maintain an organized and clean work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and best practices through ongoing training. Qualifications Proven experience as a marine mechanic/technician . Strong knowledge of outboard, inboard/outboard, and V-drive propulsion systems . Experience with marine 12-volt electrical systems , troubleshooting, and repair. Ability to diagnose and repair fuel, cooling, and electrical systems with minimal supervision. Familiarity with surf sport boat ballast and gate systems is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift and maneuver heavy components as needed. Commitment to exceptional workmanship and customer service . Positive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for the marine industry. Experience with marine point of sale systems including quoting, time tracking, work orders and close out packages. Molo ERP system experience a plus but not required. Mechanic must have the ability learn systems quickly and efficiently to excel in this position. Benefits Monday to Friday work schedule with occasional seasonal flexibility.
