Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
Tire and rim changes, rotations, maintenance and repair on all mobile mining equipment, light vehicles, support, and auxiliary equipment.RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety inflate and deflate tires properly with high pressure air where required. Maintain, inspect, diagnose, and repair tires. Determine and diagnose adverse effects on tire life with proper tire matching, inflation pressures and equipment mechanical issues. Identify all wheel/rim components for compatibility, damage, and wear. Properly inspect and determine components, tools, hardware, equipment, and work environment to be safe or unsafe. Operate, document, and perform pre-operational inspections, general repair, and service on tire handling equipment (hydraulic hoses, belts, lights, etc.). Install, balance, rotate, and repair passenger, light truck, medium truck, industrial and OTR tires Demonstrate basic knowledge of safe rigging practices, safe placement of jacks and stands. Operate various mine equipment for servicing. Ability to follow instruction and direction with minimal supervision.REQUIREMENTS HS
diploma or GED Prior experience in automotive and/or heavy equipment maintenance and tire repair. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, company policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists.
