ABOUT THIS ROLE A

service technician position with East Bay Tire is a highly experienced position. If you are looking to grow in your career in the tire or automotive industry, we will teach you all you need to know to become a well rounded service technician. A service technician will perform tire related duties of mounting, repairs, rotation, stocking, loading, and using mechanical equipment to work with customers and clients across our multiple lines of business. A service technician is constantly on the move and will need to be able to sit, squat, stand, lift, and work in a fast-paced environment. DUTIES INCLUDE

• Pulling tire orders, loading tires by hand, moving tires throughout the warehouse
• Raising vehicles on hydraulic jacks, unbolting wheels, and using air impact wrenches
• Removing tire assembly from vehicle by hand
• Working with large vehicle or earthmover tires, which requires power hoist and heavy equipment to perform repairs
• Separate tubed and tubeless tires from wheels with rubber mallet or steel hammers
• Respond to emergency calls to make repairs or replace damaged tires at customers destination
• Operating in a safe manner and complying with all East Bay Tire safety protocols
• Learning and growing in your career, working alongside experienced service techs, attending trainings, and advancing knowledge of tires

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years working in tire industry, automotive industry or experience working on vehicles, tractors, or other similar equipment
• Adhere to strict safety standard
• Ability to operate various pieces of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Comfortable working in a fast past environment
• Ability to bend, sit, and lift repetitiously
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Valid California Driver's License and must be insurable

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to:

• Wear heart, foot, eye, and other personal protective equipment while working in a loud setting
• Continually stand for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, climb, and balance; moderate to frequent walking and lifting
• Routinely use handles and fingers to handle, feel, grasp, and manipulate items, use tools. Use hands and arms to reach for items in and around work area
• Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Regularly push or pull objects up to 50 pounds
• Work flexible/varying schedule to support the team, customers, and deadlines
