Tesla Suspension and Alignment Technician (Level 1) P3X Performance Temple City, CA Job Details Full-time $23 - $25 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Customer communication Brake repair Mechanic experience Mechanical repair Driver's License Driving Brake parts Hand tools Full Job Description About P3X Performance P3X is an owner-led, Tesla-only suspension and alignment shop known for expert installs, precise in-house alignment, and honest, no-pressure advice. We work with top suspension brands (Mountain Pass Performance, Tein, BC, Ohlins, Eibach, H&R, and AlphaRex) and serve the Southern California Tesla community. The Role This is a hands-on technician role focused on the shop work: installing and servicing Tesla suspension, supporting alignments, and handling related brake, lighting, and maintenance jobs. It is a long-term opportunity with a clear path to learn alignment work. It is a wrenching role, not a sales or management role. What You Will Do The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to, the following: Install coilover conversions, lowering springs, sway bars, camber and toe correction arms, control arms, and skid plates. Handle brake service and fluid flushes, maintenance (AC service, cabin and air filters, tire-wear checks), lighting, and accessory installs. Assist with and learn in-house Tesla alignments under supervision, working toward independent proficiency. Inspect and diagnose routine suspension wear, and recommend only what the car actually needs. Road test vehicles to confirm ride quality, handling, and safety before handoff, once cleared on the shop's test-drive sign-off Photograph and log the parts, specs, and alignment data for every job. Periodically assist with video taking for social media content. Follow all shop safety procedures, including lift safety and confirming the work area is clear. Help keep the bay, tools, and alignment rack clean and in order. Other duties as reasonably assigned to support shop operations.
What You Bring (Required) Reliability. Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
Basic auto mechanic knowledge:
coilover suspension, spring installation, brake flush, and general auto basics. A genuine passion for problem-solving and keeping vehicles in top condition. Willingness to learn Tesla-specific procedures and high-voltage safety. A valid California driver's license and a clean driving record. The role progresses to road testing customer vehicles (see What You Will Do), so this is required even though new technicians start without solo driving. The physical ability to work on lifts, handle parts and tools, and stay on your feet through the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation. A reliable way to commute to Temple City, CA 91780. This is an on-site, in-person role. Nice to Have (Preferred) 1 to 2 years of mechanical experience. Suspension and alignment experience specifically. Tesla or EV service experience. This role is a great opportunity to work on EVs. ASE or alignment certification. Own basic automotive repair tools. Car-enthusiast knowledge and a habit of documenting work with photos. Bilingual, a plus for customer communication. What We Offer Specialized, hands-on work on Teslas with premium suspension brands every day. A respected, community-connected shop with loyal customers and steady demand. A long-term opportunity with hands-on training in Tesla suspension and alignment.
Growth note:
As the shop grows, a higher-level Specialist role with a higher pay band may become available. Building independent alignment proficiency is one path that could qualify a technician for that role when and if it opens. This is a potential opportunity, not a guarantee of promotion or a raise. Conditions of Employment This position is at-will. Employment is contingent upon signing P3X's confidentiality and intellectual property agreement. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Employment is contingent on completing federal Form I-9 employment eligibility verification. Any offer is contingent on a satisfactory motor vehicle record check. A broader background check is optional, at P3X's discretion. How to Apply Email or text 626-921-6737. Tell us what you have worked on and why specializing in Teslas appeals to you.
