Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Scrap Yard Parts and Tire Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately identifying, processing, and managing automotive parts and tires within our scrap yard operations. Your expertise will ensure efficient handling of vehicle components, support vehicle maintenance activities, and contribute to the overall productivity of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with automotive repair, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and assess automotive parts and tires for resale or recycling purposes Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble vehicles safely and efficiently Perform tire service tasks including mounting, balancing, and repairs Conduct basic vehicle maintenance such as oil changes and wheel alignments Maintain accurate inventory records of parts and tires processed Assist with vehicle inspections to determine salvageability or repair needs Support heavy lifting tasks to move vehicles or large components safely Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and productivity Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to parts availability Qualifications Prior dealership experience or automotive repair background preferred Proven mechanic experience with automotive diagnostics and repairs Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment Experience with tire service including mounting, balancing, and repair techniques Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes and alignments Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and safety awareness Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach Valid driver's license; relevant certifications in automotive service are a plus If you are passionate and eager to develop your skills in a busy scrap yard environment, and committed to providing quality service, we encourage you to apply today.
