WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON.
Mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and a desire to work are necessary qualities. Wheel Technician•Essential Duties The ability to perform the duties of this job in a manner that yields consistent wheel performance is critical to the manufacturing process, and ultimately to the quality of the tools produced. Tasks include, but are not limited to building wheel packs per specifications, dressing wheels and maintaining the equipment. Storing, organizing and maintaining the wheel packs. Recording the usage of wheel packs. Taking Inventory, and providing reports as requested. As a Wheel Technician employee, you will need the ability to lift up to 40 lbs to safely handle wheels and wheel packs; flexibility of hands/fingers for handling wheel parts and for data entry purposes; visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses; the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; the ability to stand for periods of time; the ability to walk / ambulate; the ability to bend or reach to retrieve materials. ExperienceRequirements High School diploma or G.E.D. required Prior experience not required General math skills are necessary for this position and a math test will be administered. Ability to do hands-on work. Effective communication skills (verbal, written). Ability to work with a diverse environment. Ability to adhere to a schedule on a regular basis is required. Mechanical aptitude. Problem solving skills. Reliable transportation required. Manufacturing positions require the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.; the ability to safely handle the wheels, wheel packs, and tools; the ability to follow instruction and operate a machine safely and correctly; flexibility of hands/fingers for handling tools, wheel parts, and for data entry purposes; visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses; the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; the ability to stand for long periods of time; the ability to walk or otherwise ambulate; the ability to bend or reach to retrieve materials. WageSchedules We have a position available on the following shift, with a base rate of $17.00/hour. 1st Shift, Monday•Thursday, 6:45 AM•5:15 PM
TRAINING FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE ON 1ST
SHIFT, Monday thru Thursday, 6:45a•5:15p. Training lasts approximately 10-16 weeks. After successful completion of training, you will be transitioned to the 4th shift schedule listed above. Upon successful completion of training, testing and sign off, your wage will move to $18.00. Working Conditions:
The Wheel Technician will work primarily in a production area, where there may be contact with natural oils, synthetic oils, and various grinding dusts. This area has moderate noise levels and has climate control. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, bending, reaching, fine manipulation, reading, and writing. Due to the nature of our product, proper handling of the wheels is necessary to prevent injury. Proper instruction, training, and PPE is provided as needed for the specific job or duty.
