Job Description

Job Summary The Tire & Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services, including tire installation and repair, oil changes, lubrication, and basic mechanical inspections. This role ensures vehicles operate safely and efficiently by maintaining proper tire condition and engine performance. The technician works in a fast-paced service environment while following safety standards and delivering reliable customer service. Key Responsibilities Remove, install, rotate, and balance tires on passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light trucks Perform oil changes, fluid checks, and lubrication services Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation levels Repair punctured tires and replace valves or tire components as needed Check and top off vehicle fluids, including coolant, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid Conduct basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs to supervisors Maintain accurate service records and follow shop procedures Operate tire-changing, balancing, and lubrication equipment safely Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards Assist team members with general shop operations and customer service Required Skills and Qualifications Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles and maintenance procedures Ability to operate tire and lubrication equipment Physical ability to lift heavy tires and equipment (typically 50-75 pounds) Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Dependability and strong work ethic Good communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in automotive maintenance, tire service, or lube technician roles High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and shop safety standards
